Let’s see few of Italy’s tourist attractions Florence is, of course, the cradle of the Renaissance, and it’s the city’s remarkable architecture and art which are the main draw for tourists. This means long queues for several of the key museums and churches at most times of the year. But in January you can enjoy the art and the sights – most of which are indoors – entirely free of crowds. There’s great shopping to be had, too – especially during the January sales – and it’s an excellent time to make the most of the best bars and restaurants.

At the base of Mount Vesuvius is the ancient Roman town of Herculaneum. Nearly 2,000 years ago, a volcanic eruption destroyed Herculaneum. However, just like its larger rival Pompeii, the eruption and resulting layer of mud preserved and fossilized much of the architecture. Visitors to Herculaneum can see original homes, refurbished to appear as they did 2,000 years ago, as well as fossilized skeletons, ancient advertisements and beautiful mosaics that showcase art from millennia past.

In many other top 10 tourist attractions in Italy lists, you won’t find Da Vinci’s Last Supper (Il Cenacolo). But if you are an art lover and don’t want to miss the magnificent work of great Da Vinci, you got to keep it in your visiting list. “The Last Supper” is Da Visci’s visual interpretation of an event narrated in all 4 of the Gospels. The famous wall painting, measuring 15 x 29 feet (460 x 880 cm), depicts the evening before Jesus Christ was betrayed by one of his disciples. He gathered everybody to eat his last supper and to tell them that he knew what was coming. He showed all his disciples how to eat and drink in his tribute. The painting is located on the wall of the dining hall beside the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, on the western periphery of central Milan.
